The personal brand of Aletha Ward is a harmonious blend of warmth and intellect, capturing the essence of a powerhouse in academia while remaining approachable and creative. The visual identity we crafted for Aletha reflects her unique duality: her name, rendered in a flowing cursive font, evokes femininity, creativity, and warmth, while her surname, presented in a sleek sans-serif font, conveys intelligence, exclusivity, and modern sophistication. Together, these elements create a brand that exudes reliability, confidence, and a forward-thinking mindset.
Aletha’s trust in our creative process allowed us to explore and refine her brand with a sense of freedom and experimentation. The signature style of her personal brand is anchored in a vibrant coral and calming teal, colours that not only reflect Aletha’s personality but also resonate with her audience. The selection of the right coral hue was the only significant decision Aletha was closely involved in—beyond that, she gave us the autonomy to bring her vision to life without hesitation. This trust was crucial in establishing a brand that feels both authentic and impactful.
Our collaboration with Aletha did not stop at her personal branding. We had the privilege of extending our work to her published books, handling everything from cover design to internal layouts and intricate illustrations. This project was particularly special, as it marked our first experience being credited as the illustrator on a published work. Helping Aletha navigate the self-publishing process and bringing her vision to life through these books was a highlight of our ongoing partnership.
